BEAUTIFICATION
Since 2018, KBCA volunteers have been planting, cleaning, and decorating Kelso, from 80+ sidewalk flower containers and community clean-up days.

New flower pots, soil recycled from growers, and flowers purchased from Kelso High School FFA are ready for volunteers to plant and move to their new homes.
WHY IT MATTERS
First impressions matter, for the people who live here and for everyone passing through. Blooming sidewalks, clean streets, and bright banners tell visitors and residents alike that Kelso is a place people care about. A downtown that looks loved draws shoppers to local businesses, gives families a reason to stay and stroll, and builds the kind of pride that keeps neighbors invested in their town.
What started as a handful of neighbors picking up trash in 2018 has grown into a citywide effort. Our Business Flower Pot Program went from 20 containers in 2019 to more than 80 today. We’ve supported the City of Kelso’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting, and helped bring a mural to life under the bridge with Workforce Southwest Washington and Goodwill Industries. In 2022–2023, we also completed the America in Bloom Growing Vibrant Communities Self-Assessment to guide our next steps.
HOW YOU CAN HELP SUPPORT KELSO BEAUTIFICATION
Join a clean-up day. Grab some gloves and spend a morning with us making Kelso shine. No experience needed.
Help with the flowers. Our containers need planting in the spring and care all season long with watering, pruning, and general care.
Own a business in Kelso? Join the Business Flower Pot Program and put a container outside your storefront. Flower pot hosts need to water and care for the container. New planters start in the spring and sometime we have relocated planters that need new homes mid-season.
